Meet the Board
Amy Truitt, RN, CCDS
President
Amy has over 30 years of nursing experience. She begin her CDI career in 2006, advancing to the CDI Manager at Palmetto/Prisma Health where she retired from service there in 2019. Amy is currently working as CDI Manager for AnMed. She is serving on the SC ACDIS board as president and is an expert in her field and has spoken at many venues including 3M client experience.
Rebecca Sandifer, CCDS
Secretary
Rebecca Sandifer serves as a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Supervisor at Prisma Health, bringing more than 13 years of experience in healthcare and clinical documentation. She began her career with Prisma Health Tuomey in 2009 and joined the CDI team in 2012. Rebecca has been a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) since 2016 and continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence, accuracy, and leadership within the CDI profession.
Dorene Hughes, MSN, RN, CCDS, CDIP, ACHS
Treasurer
Dorene has over 28 years of nursing experience. She begin her CDI career in 2006 and is currently Director of CDI at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center. She is an expert in her field and has presented at the SC ACDIS state chapter meetings. Dorene has served on the National ACDIS CCDS Exam Committee, National ACDIS Advisory, and the AHIMA Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice Committee. She is certified as a CCDS and CDIP.
Courtney Gainey, MHA, BSN, RN, CCDS, NE-BC
Vice-President
Courtney has been a nurse since 1997. She has been part of the CDI community from 2012-2016 and then returned in 2022. She currently serves as a CDI supervisor, and she is passionate about leadership and team member support. She is excited to see continued growth in SCACDIS and looks forward to how she can best assist with this endeavor in the future.
Jill Mazurek, MSN/Ed, RN, CCDS, CCS
Social Media Director
Jill is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She began her Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) career in 2017 and transitioned into consulting in 2023. She currently serves as a CDI Consultant with Guidehouse. Jill is also a former presenter at the National ACDIS Conference and a local South Carolina Chapter ACDIS meeting.
