Meet the Board
Karen has over 10 years experience in CDI and developed the successful MUSC Pediatric CDI program. She is a frequent contributor to the ACDIS Journal. Karen serves on the ACDIS CCDS Exam Board.
Amy Truitt, BSN, RN, CCDS
President
Amy has over 30 years of nursing experience. She begin her CDI career in 2006, advancing to the CDI Manager at Palmetto/Prisma Health where she retired from service there in 2019. Amy is currently working as team lead for the South Atlantic Divsion of HCA. She is serving on the SC ACDIS board as president and is an expert in her field and has spoken at many venues including 3M client experience.
Rebecca Sandifer, CCDS
Secretary
Rebecca is currently a CDI Coordinator for Prisma Health and has over 10 years experience. Rebecca began her career at Prisma Health Tuomey in 2009, joining their CDI team in 2012. She has been certified for over 6 years obtaining her CCDS in 2016.
Dorene Hughes, MSN, RN, CCDS, CDIP, ACHS
Treasurer
Dorene has over 28 years of nursing experience. She begin her CDI career in 2006 and is currently Director of CDI at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center. She is an expert in her field and has presented at the SC ACDIS state chapter meetings. Dorene has served on the National ACDIS CCDS Exam Committee, National ACDIS Advisory, and the AHIMA Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice Committee. She is certified as a CCDS and CDIP.
Jill Mazurek, RN, MSN/Ed, PCCN-K, CCDS, CCS
Social Media Director
Jill is currently a Senior Consultant at Vizient and has over 6 years experience. Jill began her career at Baptist Easley Hospital in 2017. She obtained her CCDS in 2019 and CCS in 2021.
